LA PLATA—This Friday, entries were received for the next two meetings at the local track, scheduled for Tuesday the 24th and Thursday the 26th of this month. The outlook includes three races above the common level, although one is at risk of being canceled.
The most significant action is slated for the latter of those cards, with the potential running of the Clásico Mariano Moreno (1200 m, dirt) and the Clásico Diego M. Argüello (1000 m, dirt). The former is for three-year-olds and up, and the latter for fillies and mares three years old and up, both under weight-for-age conditions.
There are only five entries for the Mariano Moreno, and any withdrawal could jeopardize its place on the program. Encantador Pass (Distinctiv Passion) could face Animal Topic (El Animal), Infiltrado Cap (Safety Check), Last Word (Le Blues), and Redentor Scat (Knockout).
Meanwhile, the group of entries for the Argüello consists of 16 names, including La Farce (Emmanuel), Emprestada(Cosmic Trigger), and Starry Bomb (Hit It a Bomb). Joining them are: Chinita Salteña (Golden Cigars), Elkara (Il Campione), Empress Life (Legión de Honor), En Voz Alta (Il Campione), Excrutada (Bahiaro), Filha (Nashville Texan), Idiala Edition (Equal Edition), Lucía Angelical (Most Improved), Máxima Risk (Security Risk), Ree Libertadora (Reelants), Reina Secreta (Víctor Security), The Queen of Spades (Puerto Escondido), and What a Glory (Safety Check).
Regarding the March 24 date, everything will revolve around the Especial Jockey Club de Mendoza (1400 m, dirt), for horses four years old and up with three or more wins. In this race, El Ernesto (Il Campione) would carry the top weight of 62 kilos.
