The colt, who had been injured when finishing as the runner-up to Giustino in the 2024 Polla (G1), made a stunning comeback with a fast victory

Nooresh's comeback was one of the highlights of the highly entertaining day at the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo this Wednesday. The son of Suggestive Boy, who had suffered a hand injury when finishing second to Giustino (Full Mast) in the 2024 Gran Premio Polla de Potrillos (G1), did not disappoint, securing a remarkable victory that showcased his potential.
Under the expert training of Roberto M. Bullrich, Nooresh delivered a decisive performance in the tough Premio Safety Honour, a 1600-meter race on dirt, where he faced other talented 3-year-olds. Jockey Juan Carlos Noriega once again rode Nooresh, allowing the colt to find his rhythm as the race progressed, positioning him perfectly as they entered the straight. From there, the dark bay surged forward, overtaking the leader Song Joy (Fortify) and extending his lead to 2 ½ lengths at the finish line, clocking an exceptional time of 1m32s68/100—a time that always raises questions given the nuances of the Buenos Aires racetrack.
Song Joy ran a brilliant race, considering he was coming off his first win, while Descamisado (Cosmic Trigger) finished third, 6 lengths behind. Baranello (Seahenge), another classic performer from last season, took fourth.
Bred by Haras Carampangue with Noche de Sueños (Orpen) as his dam, Nooresh made the most of his return, sparking the long-awaited smiles and now holds promise for a future in the most prestigious middle-distance races—and possibly even beyond.
Another exciting race was the Premio El Chamuyo (1200m, dirt), for 3-year-olds with two victories. Talento Emergente (Equal Talent and Facegirl, by Crimson Tide, trained by Mauro Castellazzi) easily dispatched the three rivals who challenged him.
With jockey Gonzalo Borda and trainer Marcelo Sueldo (represented by Juan Pablo E. Díaz) at the helm, Talento Emergente defeated the favorite Txiringate (Lizard Island) by 4 lengths, giving him a 4-kilo weight allowance, and clocking an impressive 1m8s55/100. Owned by Stud Pauli, Talento Emergente now boasts 3 wins from 4 starts, making him another promising classic contender.
