Doña Chila (pictured) will shoulder top weight of 62 kilos in the Handicap Haras Dilú, while Cántaros Song, Atrevido Electric, and Declan Dall headline the field for the Especial Snow Cat at La Plata

LA PLATA.- Tuesday’s card at this racetrack will also feature two races above the ordinary level through the Handicap Haras Dilú (1000m, dirt) and the Especial Snow Cat (1200m, dirt), the former restricted to mares four and up and the latter open to horses aged five and older, with a minimum of three victories required in both events.

Always generous under heavy assignments, Doña Chila (Peten Itza) will seek another important success in the handicap, though she must shoulder a demanding 61 kilos.

Just over a month ago she defeated Jaque Mate Sar (Sardinero) by a comfortable three lengths in the Especial Aerostática, carrying 60 kilos and conceding eight to that same rival, whom she meets again here under a much narrower weight spread.

As for the special, the picture appears considerably more open regarding the leading contenders.

For instance, Cántaros Song (Alcindor, 58) is coming off a neck victory in the Especial Snow Gambler and now attempts to repeat the feat.

The exceptionally quick Atrevido Electric (Electricity, 62) arrives off a disappointing effort at Palermo, though prior to that he had returned from a six-month layoff locally with a very encouraging third-place finish in the Handicap Haras Abolengo, behind Arcanum (Horse Greeley) and Redentor Scat (Knockout).

Also entered is Declan Dall (Víctor Security, 58), who lost his form after recording the best victory of his career in the Handicap Equal Stripes over Palermo’s dirt track, where he defeated none other than Rugiente (Il Campione).

For him, this shapes as an ideal opportunity to regain his best form.
