A handicap will be the highlight of a dull week at Palermo

The Handicap Equal Stripes will be held this Saturday, framed by maiden claiming races; meanwhile, the Especial Jardy stands as the main event for Monday's meeting
The Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo finalized its next two programs this Tuesday for Saturday the 14th and Monday the 16th, neither of which will feature a stakes race.
As reported yesterday, most of the interesting conditional races for Saturday were canceled due to a low number of entries, which will diminish the overall quality of the card. The most significant event will be the Handicap Equal Stripes (1200m, dirt), for winners aged 4 and up, where Rugiente (Il Campione) will shoulder a very demanding top weight of 62 kilos.
Just behind him at the weights is Forty Fain (Fortify) with 61 1/2 kilos, leading a field of seven confirmed runners that also includes: Approval Cat (Endorsement, 57 1/2), Decan Dall (Victor Security, 54 1/2), El Determinado (Il Campione, 55 1/2), Lunático Blues (Le Blues, 54), and Vikingo Real (Seahenge, 54 1/2).
Additionally, two "Especiales" for maidens with racing history in the provinces will take place: the Especial Angel O. Baratucci (1000m, dirt) and the Especial Florindo Catapano (1400m, dirt). The Baratucci field features Messianico Sound, Vivencia, Suntuoso, Don't Stop, Lulu Boss, Kimera Rye, Gran Pantera, Asignatura Pendiente, and Angi Halo. Meanwhile, the Catapano will see Pacífico del Sur, Soy Premiado, Príncipe Dark, Bella Pasman, Le Chat Malévolo, Gran Torrontés, Catcher Man, and Beach In the Rye at the start.
On Monday the 16th, the highlight will be the Especial Jardy, for mares aged 5 and up with three or more wins, contested over a mile on the turf. The confirmed field consists of: Celestial (56), Contrast (52), Gneisenau (54), Guerrera del Mar (52), Lost Beach (56), Olimpia de Epiro (54), Reina Casada (56), and Timberlay (52).
It will be just another week—a pity, but it is what it is.
