LA PLATA.— Female sprinters take center stage during Thursday's card at the local track, headlined by the Especial Jockey Club de Mar del Plata over 1,200 meters for fillies and mares 4 years old and up with 3 or more wins to their credit.

The handicap carries stakes-quality depth, led by Calle de Tierra, who returns to the surface of her best performances following a stellar effort on the dirt at San Isidro, where she finished second by 1 1/2 lengths to Creencia Espiritual(Strategos) in the Handicap Wally.
