A Wealth of Listed Stakes Highlights the Upcoming Cards at San Isidro

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Special for Turf Diario).— While San Isidro prepares for the highly anticipated Gran Premio 2000 Guineas (G1) festival, the track received entries on Monday for its next two programs. Scheduled for Friday, July 17, and Wednesday, July 22, both cards will feature black-type racing.

On Friday, the action will center around the Clásico Cocles (L-2400m, turf) and the Clásico Necochea (L-1000m, turf), both handicap conditions open to horses 4-years-old and upward.

In the marathon Cocles, the highweight assignment of 59 kilograms went to Quality Boy (Asiatic Boy). He is slated to face a competitive group that includes Amuni (Tetaze, 57 1/2 kg), Beatles (Sixties Song, 54 1/2 kg), Buen Escosés(Bodemeister, 57 kg), Cornwall (Remote, 58 1/2 kg), Don Logrado (Fortify, 54 1/2 kg), Epityrum (Portal del Alto, 56 kg), Fruit Hunter (Global Hunter, 53 1/2 kg), Gadzooks (Galán de Cine, 54 kg), Ivanel (Pataqués, 52 1/2 kg), Jazminero Azul (Lucullan, 53 1/2 kg), Maestro de Fe (Master of Hounds, 54 kg), Nevado Pampa (Hat Ninja, 51 1/2 kg), Playa Chopera (Treasure Beach, 50 kg), and Saphirus Blue (Daniel Boone, 55 1/2 kg).

For the sprint test in the Necochea, Bailarín de Venecia (Angiolo) was assigned the top weight of 60 1/2 kilograms, spotting a half-kilo to Land of Promise (Le Blues, 60 kg) and a full kilo to Camuflaje (Orpen, 59 1/2 kg). Other heavily weighted contenders in the speed event include Coraje Gaucho (Lenovo, 59 1/2 kg), Hiran (Santillano, 58 1/2 kg), and Martinique (Señor Candy, 59 kg). The entry list is completed by Altamiro (Santillano, 54 1/2 kg), Bello Horizonte (Emperor Richard, 50 kg), Contra Pronóstico (Daddy Long Legs, 57 1/2 kg), Don Cacao (Treasure Beach, 49 1/2 kg), El Romancero (Il Campione, 52 1/2 kg), Filoso Class (Filoso Emperor, 58 kg), Gracias Gringo(Touareg, 53 kg), La Asturiana Blue (Le Blues, 52 1/2 kg), and Patrón Existente (Southern Cat, 52 1/2 kg).

Action shifts to the dirt on Wednesday for the Handicap Gendarmería Nacional Argentina (1400m), also for 4-year-olds and up. Among the 16 horses entered, the top weights are led by Hit Rouge (Hit It a Bomb, 60 kg), Yak Sport (Glory Seattle, 59 kg), Tiffony Mo (El Moisés, 58 1/2 kg), and Don Zahir (Daddy Long Legs, 58 kg).

The prospective field also features Adorado Rim (Remote, 55 1/2 kg), Approval Cat (Endorsement, 55 1/2 kg), Bitter Orange (Cosmic Trigger, 57 kg), Bluclette Rim (Remote, 55 1/2 kg), Bombay Lake (Anjiz Lake, 55 1/2 kg), Demóstenes (Equal Stripes, 53 kg), Envidioso Frank (Gidu, 56 1/2 kg), Farchi (Malenchini, 52 1/2 kg), Flaminius(Hi Happy, 55 kg), Liberto (Hurricane Cat, 57 1/2 kg), Stormy River (Le Blues, 54 1/2 kg), and The Great Jazz(The Great Day, 55 kg).
