A Wide Variety of Stakes Races Await Next Week at Palermo and San Isidro

The Clásico Ricardo P. Sauze (G3), Clásico República Federativa del Brasil (G3), Clásico Ocurrencia (G3), and Clásico Propietarios (L) make up the attractive lineup

An extensive stakes schedule is coming together for next week at the Palermo and San Isidro racetracks. The action will kick off in high gear on Friday the 7th at the former venue, featuring the Clásico Ricardo P. Sauze (G3-1,600 m, dirt) and the Clásico República Federativa del Brasil (G3-1,600 m, turf).

The former, open to fillies and mares 4 years old and up, attracted a compact field of just 6 potential runners: Blessed Shine (Honour Devil), International Look (Cosmic Trigger), Lancara (Manipulator), Mis Locuras(Manipulator), Paxing (Señor Candy), and Splash Park (Safety Check).

Meanwhile, the Clásico República Federativa del Brasil, open to all horses 4 years old and up, drew a roster of 9 nominees: Blue Dollar (Orpen), Bronx (Qué Vida Buena), Capital Boss (Holy Boss), Comando Secreto (War Command), El Ernesto (Señor Candy), El Gazpacho (Bodemeister), Grand Canyon (Señor Candy), Kopke (Hi Happy), and Mister Coquette (Bodemeister).

The Downtown track will complete its week on Monday the 10th with the Handicap Día del Médico Veterinario(1,000 m, dirt) and the Handicap Servicio Veterinario del Hipódromo de Palermo (1,200 m, dirt), the former for all winners 5 years old and up and the latter for winning mares 5 years old and up.

For the five-furlong dash, no fewer than 24 horses were entered, with Hiran (Santillano) assigned the high weight of 61 kilos. In the female division, meanwhile, 14 candidates were nominated, with Vieja Amiga Mask (Mask) also earning the top weight of 61 kilos.

Over at San Isidro, the program for Saturday the 8th will feature two additional stakes: the Clásico Ocurrencia(G3-1,000 m, turf), for fillies and mares 4 years old and up, and the Clásico Propietarios (L-1,000 m, turf), for 3-year-olds.

Enjoy Dancing (Hi Happy), Forever Rim (Remote), La Farce (Emmanuel), Lissette Island (Lizard Island), Realizada Cat (Hurricane Cat), Sunny Frank (Gidu), and Tartana Frank (Gidu) are the 7 entrants for the Clásico Ocurrencia. Meanwhile, the 9 contenders heading into the Clásico Propietarios are Cadiz (Strategos), Glafira(Gouverneur Morris), Listen (Le Blues), Lunático Pass (Distinctiv Passion), Mister Market (Market Rally), Nissos (Il Mercato), November Rain (Strategos), Rey Emérito (Qué Vida Buena), and Vue de Ciel (King Guillermo).

On Wednesday, August 12, at San Isidro, the main attraction will be the Handicap Academia Nacional de Agronomía y Veterinaria (1,200 m, dirt), for all horses 5 years old and up. Featuring 15 contenders, the handicap assignments show G1 winner El Mejor Recuerdo (Il Mercato) as the top weight, scaling 62 1/2 kilos.
