The Stud Macul runner shone in the G1 Gran Premio Copa de Oro, edging out pacesetter Votá Bien by half a neck

It was a magical afternoon for both Nicolás Martín Ferro and Gustavo Calvente, each celebrating five wins on the San Isidro card, and the perfect ending came when they teamed up with Acento Final for a thrilling victory in the G1 Gran Premio Copa de Oro (2400m, turf)—the final major prep for the G1 Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini. The performance confirmed the Stud Macul runner as the top older stayer on the grass heading into December’s grand finale.
Returning to the same course where he had earned his crowning moment last season in the G1 Gran Premio Jockey Club, and fresh off a gritty score over Need You Tonight (Hat Ninja) in the G1 Gran Premio General San Martín on Palermo’s inner turf, the Treasure Beach colt once again relied on his signature toughness to prevail at the highest level. Fighting for glory has truly become his trademark.
Now a mature and complete racehorse, the Chilean-owned bay—racing for Arturo Cousiño, along with Pablo Gómez, Roberto Palumbo, Fernando and Juan José Fantini Jr., and Matías Soffia—was relentless through the stretch. He wore down front-running Votá Bien (Hi Happy) in the closing meters to win by half a neck, while Time to Think(Seahenge) closed from far back to finish just another half-length behind in third. The final time was 2:26.99, slightly faster than the 2:27.34 clocked earlier by Ardiendo (Remote) in the G3 Clásico Provincia de Buenos Aires.
A half brother to stakes winner Alla Tua Salute (Pure Prize), and out of a daughter of the unforgettable Miss Atorranta(Numerous)—Argentina’s 2006 Champion Older Mare and dam of G1 Mirta (Treasure Beach)—Acento Final, bred by Haras Pozo de Luna, now boasts four victories, three of them at the Group 1 level.
The road ahead leads straight to the Carlos Pellegrini, the ultimate test of the season, where the bay warrior will face not only the best locals but also a powerful contingent of international challengers. He’ll greet them all with open arms—and with the same relentless determination that has become the hallmark of his career.
