The son of Remote won a stakes race again after 26 months, now on the turf of San Isidro
It seemed to belong to Curious Song (Sixties Song), but Adorado Rim was unstoppable in the final 100 meters, wearing down the leader practically at the wire to capture the Clásico Engrillado (2,000 m), the feature event of Sunday's card at Hipódromo de San Isidro, contested over heavy turf.
The son of Remote remembered his winning ways, enjoying a second youth now under the care of Juan Saldivia. Through most of his career he campaigned for Firmamento, his breeder, running in those silks as one of the key figures of the 2023 juvenile division at La Plata, where he won the Clásico Luis María Doyhenard (G3) and Clásico Pedro Goenaga (G2), alongside several major placings.
However, his form dipped, the farm put him through the ring in a training sale, and now it is Stud El Gran Robertenjoying the generous bay, who was coming off a return to the winner's circle in allowance company following an encouraging comeback in the Gran Premio Estrellas Mile (G1).
William Pereyra never panicked when Curious Song bounded clear by several lengths in the stretch, having dictated comfortable fractions of 26s23/100, 51s18/100, 1m15s78/100, and 1m40s84/100 over a grueling surface.
A head separated Adorado Rim and Curious Song at the wire, with favorite Don Machete (Daddy Long Legs) third just 3/4 of a length back, closing ground late as well. Meanwhile, Señor Sandro (Cityscape) proved a disappointment, finishing a distant fourth in a six-horse field, 14 3/4 lengths behind the winner.
The final time for the event was 2m6s86/100.
