Agradecida Pass, by Distinctiv Passion, Takes José Hernández to Open Historic Double at La Plata

LA PLATA.- Agradecida Pass’s remarkable campaign reached a new peak Tuesday at La Plata, where the Stud Pauli mare delivered her most impressive victory to date in the Handicap José Hernández, living up to her billing as the favorite with a commanding front-running performance.
Carrying 56 kilos, the daughter of the prolific Distinctiv Passion broke sharply and immediately assumed command, setting solid fractions of :22.97 and :45.60. Once straightened for home, she opened up by about four lengths and, though Empress Life (Legión de Honor, 56) came charging late, Agradecida Pass held on comfortably to score by a half-neck.
Another 2 1/2 lengths back, Save Your Tears (Full Mast, 51) completed the trifecta, with Maylena (Qué Vida Buena, 57) checking in fourth, two lengths farther behind. The final time for the 1100 meters was 1:04.22 over a fast track.
Trained by Marcelo Sueldo and saddled on the day by Juan Pablo E. Díaz, Agradecida Pass was ridden to victory by Gonzalo Borda and was bred by Haras El Alfalfar. Out of La Agradable Key (Key Deputy), the talented mare kicked off a memorable family double, as her full brother Encantador Pass later added the Jockey Club de Azul (L) to the family résumé. The win was her fourth from just eight career starts.
