As Argentine racing gears up for the Gran Premio Jockey Club (G1) series, Palermo and San Isidro prepare for their upcoming cards, with entries accepted this Monday.

The main action will come Saturday at the Jockey Club track, featuring the Clásico Federico de Alvear (G2, 1800m, turf) and Clásico Yatasto (G3, 2400m, turf). The Alvear, for three-year-old fillies, serves as a prep for the Gran Premio Enrique Acebal (G1), while the Yatasto, open to horses four and older, forms part of the route to the Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini (G1).

Eight fillies are likely to contest the Alvear, led by Catys Queen (Lizard Island), winner of the Clásico Marina Lezcano, and Mi Confesión (Suggestive Boy), fresh off a third-place finish in the Gran Premio Polla de Potrancas (G1) and earlier winner of the Clásico Bayakoa (L)Carmensita (Treasure Beach), Doña Lógica (Equal Stripes), Doña Vainilla (Il Campione), Great Fight (Equal Stripes), Invocación (Treasure Beach), and the Brazilian Pale Ale (Outstrip) also figure prominently.

The Yatasto entry includes 12 names, with Equal Mostaza (Equal Stripes) leading after victories in the Clásicos Cocles (L) and General Pueyrredón (G3). Other contenders include Diógenis (Il Mercato), Don Champagne (Long Island Sound), Don Tigre (Cityscape), El Darwin (Il Campione), El Pulque (Heliostatic), Joako (Heliostatic), Ninguneando (Bodemeister), Orpen Again (Seek Again), Soñador Spring (Greenspring), Time to Think (Seahenge), and Yankiray (Hi Happy).

At Palermo, the highlight will be Friday, September 26, with the Clásico Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (G3, 1000m, dirt) for fillies three and older, featuring a field of eight. La Bella Otero (Daddy Long Legs), Go Clari Go (Strategos), and Verdadera Pass (Distinctiv Passion) could meet more experienced rivals including Aubrie (Angiolo), Bantia (John F Kennedy), Beau Breeze (AP Candy), Eleven Mile (Il Campione), and Lissette Island (Lizard Island).

Additionally, San Isidro opens Wednesday, October 1, and Palermo on Monday, September 29, with handicaps as the featured events. Scratches and jockey declarations will be accepted through noon today.
