The Clasico Horacio Bustillo (G2), Clasico Fernandez Guerrico (G2), and Clasico General Viamonte (G3) headline a remarkable card on the turf

The upcoming programs for Hipodromo de San Isidro were finalized this Tuesday, bringing the excellent news that next Saturday will feature a high-level card of the kind that built the Jockey Club track’s storied reputation. The attractive schedule includes no fewer than three graded stakes, alongside divisions for 2-year-olds and other promising allowance races.
The most significant event will be the Clasico Horacio Bustillo (G2), a mile test for 3-year-olds and up, where the eight confirmed runners include multiple G1 winner Earth God (Cosmic Trigger) and champion Colifato Novo (Lenovo). Joining them in the starting gate will be Majority Wins (Master of Hounds), Fanfarroneante (Daniel Boone), Liberto(Hurricane Cat), Don Latido (John F. Kennedy), Que Tarde Gris (Il Campione), and Sargento Morris (Gouverneur Morris).
The Clasico Ricardo, Ezequiel y Ezequiel M. Fernandez Guerrico (G2) will be contested over the same distance and surface for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and up. Only six were ratified for the field: Samba do Brazil (Springdom), Guadilu (Señor Candy), Blessed Shine (Honour Devil), Lessons of Life (Le Blues), Dream Serena (Forge), and Forti Leaf (Fortify).
Completing a remarkable lineup is the Clasico General Viamonte (G3, 1,000m) for 3-year-olds and up, where three-time champion sprinter Labrado (Le Blues) returns to the fray seeking to regain his form after a forgettable performance in the Gran Premio Felix de Alzaga Unzue (G1). In his path, the Angel Bonetto trainee will face Hiran (Santillano), Salando Las Heridas (Strategos), Antiguo Secreto (Angiolo), and Contra Pronostico (Daddy Long Legs).
Hipodromo de San Isidro will also host racing on Wednesday the 25th. Amidst the usual landscape of alternative categories, stayers will face a significant challenge in the Clasico Calidoscopio (L, 2,400m, dirt) as they begin the road toward the Gran Premio 25 de Mayo (G1). Held under handicap conditions for 4-year-olds and up, it remains inexplicable why this race is run on the dirt, but that is the reality. The only five participants will be Travel Pass (Fortify, 50 1/2 kg), Rumor de Fuego (Daddy Long Legs, 57 kg), the mare Playa Chopera (Treasure Beach, 50 kg), Santo Rey(Santillano, 52 1/2 kg), and Poema Lirico (Forge, 52 1/2 kg).
