After 19 months, the best colt of 2024 at El Bosque rediscovered the winner’s circle

LA PLATA.- And one day, Seek Wave remembered he was a very good horse...

After several months wandering through a prolonged slump, the colt who had once been the best 3-year-old of 2024 at El Bosque rediscovered himself and returned to the winner’s circle in the Handicap Haras Pozo de Luna, the other featured race on Tuesday’s card contested over 1200 meters.

Winner of both the Polla (G3) and the Provincia de Buenos Aires (G2), Seek Wave had gone more than 19 months without tasting victory, but finally erased that bitterness with a powerful late rally very similar to the one unleashed shortly beforehand by El Ernesto (Señor Candy) in the Clásico 25 de Mayo de 1810 (G2).

Carrying 60 kilos, one of the highweights of the race, the bay representing Stud San Donato had to work hard throughout, but he also had a major ally in jockey Aníbal Cabrera, who pushed him relentlessly from the moment the gates opened.

Around the turn he circled the field on the outside, and early in the stretch he already looked like the winner.

Then it was simply a matter of displaying the turn of foot that once made him such a standout performer.

He struck the front at the 200-meter mark and eventually defeated Redentor Scat (Knockout, 54 kilos) by three lengths, with Arcanum (Horse Greeley, 61) another minimal margin back in third after a final time of 1:12.52.

Trainer Lucas O. Tournoud saddled the son of Seek Again, bred by Haras Firmamento, who finally snapped a very long losing streak.

Hopefully, it was the beginning of a new chapter in his story.
