The Remote colt returned to winning ways in the Clásico Provincia de Buenos Aires

The G3 Clásico Provincia de Buenos Aires (2400m, turf) marked a strong return to form for Ardiendo, while all but securing his ticket to next month’s G1 Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini.
The son of Remote proved that distance is no obstacle, handling the mile and a half with composure and turning back the powerful favorite Señor Sandro (Cityscape), who had taken command midway down the stretch looking every bit unstoppable.
On a perfect afternoon, Gustavo Calvente played a key role in the victory for the Stud San Isidoro colors. He never panicked when Señor Sandro opened a clear advantage before the stands; instead, he waited patiently before asking Ardiendo for his final effort in the last 200 meters. The colt responded with authority, getting up by half a length, with Neat Colt (Treasure Beach) another 3 1/2 lengths back in third. The final time was 2:27.34 over firm ground.
Winner of the G1 Gran Criterium at a mile as a juvenile, the Enrique Martín Ferro trainee had finished off the board in the G1 2000 Guineas, G3 Ensayo, and G1 Jockey Club, but this performance signaled a welcome return to top form.
Bred by Haras Las Retamas and out of Albini (Dynamix), the dark bay reaffirmed his status among the elite turf 3-year-olds at San Isidro, setting the stage for a promising shot at Argentina’s most prestigious race.
