LIMA, Peru (Special to Turf Diario).—Consistency often underpins the very best campaigns, and Argentina-bred Gaza Strip once again underscored that point Sunday with a hard-fought victory in the Clásico Snow Cort, contested over 1500 meters on the turf at Hipódromo de Monterrico. The bay mare notched her sixth stakes victory at the venue, further cementing a résumé defined by durability and reliability.

A daughter of Hi Happy out of Gaza Moon (Easing Along), bred at Haras Santa Inés and racing for Stud Jet Set, Gaza Strip answered the call in a weight-for-age test open to all, delivering a finish that kept the outcome in doubt until the wire. Ridden with patience and precision by José Reyes, she was always within striking range, saving her best for the decisive stages.

In the final strides, Gaza Strip leaned on her experience, gamely holding off the late surge of Zuccaro (Singe The Turf), who closed stoutly to miss by half a neck. Fellow Argentine Super Corinto (Super Saver), making his seasonal return, acquitted himself well in third, 1 1/2 lengths back, while favorite Magic Power (Power World) settled for fourth, 2 1/4 lengths behind. Golito (Muwaary) and another Argentine, Furioso Hit (Hit It a Bomb), completed the order of finish.

The victory was particularly meaningful for trainer Juan Suárez, who had Gaza Strip tuned to peak for a race demanding both speed and stamina. With the win, she improved her record to 11 victories from 35 starts, pushing her earnings to 111,649 soles.

Now five, Gaza Strip continues to defy time, adding to an already accomplished record in a competitive environment. Her success in the Snow Cort once again highlights the quality of Argentine bloodstock and the sound management behind her campaign. At Monterrico, she prevailed with heart and resolve, further etching her name into Peru’s stakes landscape.
