Dominant wire-to-wire score in the Cámara de Comercio de Lima comes just a week after narrow Reina Isabel II (L) defeat

LIMA, Peru (Turf Diario Special)—There was no time for regrets. Just seven days after suffering one of the most painful defeats possible—a nose loss in the Clásico Reina Isabel II (L)—Argentina’s Forty Estrella bounced back in emphatic fashion, delivering a performance that left no room for debate.

The 4-year-old chestnut showcased her full ability Saturday at Hipódromo de Monterrico, taking command from the outset and never looking back en route to a decisive victory in the Clásico Cámara de Comercio de Lima (1900m, dirt), a weight-for-age event for fillies and mares that quickly turned into a one-horse show.

Ridden with precision by Húber Bocanegra, the daughter of Fortify out of Tancreda (by Roman Ruler), bred by Haras Vacación and racing for Stud Jet Set, broke sharply and seized control immediately. She set steady fractions of :25.70, :52.09, 1:17.22, and 1:43.45, rationing her energy intelligently to arrive at the stretch with plenty left in reserve.

From there, Forty Estrella only widened her advantage, powering home to secure her eighth win from 19 starts in a final time of 2:02.17. The margin at the wire told the story—six lengths clear of Embrujada (Tapiture), while favorite Karim Forever (Enticed) never threatened and trailed home a distant last, beaten 18 1/4 lengths.

Prepared to perfection by Juan Suárez, the Argentine mare continued her upward trajectory, boosting her earnings to S/77,210 and cementing her status as one of the leading mares over middle distances at Monterrico.

The timing of the victory added further significance, coming on the final weekend of racing before the Gran Premio Latinoamericano (G1), set for Sunday the 26th, which is already drawing full attention locally. Within that context, Forty Estrella’s performance carried not only sporting merit but symbolic weight as well—another strong statement from the Argentine contingent in Lima.

Able to turn frustration into fuel, she confirmed she is currently at the peak of her powers. And she did it the way top-class horses do: on the lead, in control, and with the outcome sealed long before the finish line.
