Argentine-bred Bismark Scores Another Easy Stakes Victory on the Dirt Track at Sporting, in Chile

Owned by Stud Los Leones and trained by Ximeno Urenda P., the son of Equal Stripes prevailed in the Clásico Jorge Lyng P.
VALPARAÍSO, Viña del Mar (Special for Turf Diario).- Stud Los Leones and trainer Ximeno Urenda P. continue their winning momentum courtesy of Argentine-bred runners at the local track. Just a week after conquering the first leg of the local 3-Year-Old Triple Crown with Presley (Fortify), they once again captured the main event at this venue.
This time, the banner bearer was Bismark, who under the guidance of veteran jockey Alejandro Maureira recorded a thoroughly comfortable victory in the Clásico Jorge Lyng P. over 1300 meters on a heavy dirt track, carrying one of the top weights at 60 kg.
The 5-year-old dark bay encountered little difficulty in asserting his class. Breaking sharply, he settled right off the flanks of Parsifal (Ramaje, 54 kg.), who set the early tempo. Closing the gap around the turn, Bismark took command as they entered the home straight and dominated from that point forward.
The finish was smooth sailing for Bismark, who crossed the wire four lengths ahead of longshot Sueño Chilote (Court Vision, 53 kg.), while heavy favorite El Apostol (Classic Empire, 57 kg.) finished third, a further 3/4 length behind. The winning time was 1m21s7/100, following fractions of 24s9/100 and 47s7/100.
Bred by Haras Abolengo and originally named Luck Unique, the afternoon hero is a son of the great stallion Equal Stripes out of the American mare Lost Kitten (Kitten's Joy)—who in Argentina is the granddam this season of Abrazo Al Cielo (Treasure Beach), winner of the Clásico México at La Plata.
For Bismark, this marked his eighth victory in 28 starts, seven of which have come at Valparaíso Sporting; his remaining win occurred when he broke his maiden on the dirt track at Hipódromo Chile back in August 2024.
At the stakes level, he now boasts four career triumphs, having previously captured the Clásico Festival de Viña del Mar, the Clásico Rotary Club de Reñaca, and the Clásico Club de Viña. Judging by his performance this Wednesday, that tally looks certain to grow in the months ahead.
