The Haras Firmamento-Bred Captured the República Federativa do Brasil Over Monterrico’s Dirt Dash

LIMA, Perú (Special for Turf Diario).- Super Rafito once again displayed his class on Saturday at Hipódromo de Monterrico, stamping his authority in the Clásico República Federativa del Brasil (1000m, dirt). Sent off the favorite, the Argentine-bred confirmed his standing as one of the premier sprinters on the Lima circuit.
By Super Saver out of Slam Real (Grand Slam), the 7-year-old was bred at Haras Firmamento and races for Stud Jet Set. Trained to the minute by leading conditioner Juan Suárez Villarroel, he was given a flawless ride by Carlos Trujillo, who guided him to his 13th career victory from 39 starts. His earnings now stand at 163,704 soles.
Racing with confidence, the bay took command with 300 meters to run and turned back all challengers, holding off Hermosa Mica (Kung Fu Mambo) by half a length. It was another two lengths back to Poseidon (The Lieutenant), with English Moon (V. E. Day) trailing a further 3 1/4 lengths behind.
The win marked the fifth stakes triumph in Peru for Super Rafito, who continues to shine in Monterrico’s ultra-competitive sprint division. His durability and consistency at age seven underscore both his quality and the expert handling of his connections.
Super Rafito is a half-brother to G3 winner Real Nistel (Van Nistelrooy) and to stakes-placed Real Emperor (Emperor Jones).
