LIMA, Peru (Special to Turf Diario).- With a convincing and professionally managed performance, Forty Estrellastood out once again on Sunday at Hipódromo de Monterrico, where she captured the Clásico Concejo Distrital de Santiago de Surco, a race restricted to fillies and mares without a stakes victory during the season and contested over 1500 meters on the dirt.

The 4-year-old chestnut filly, by Fortify and out of Tancreda (Roman Ruler), bred at Haras Vacación and racing for Stud Jet Set, confirmed her current good form and added the sixth victory of her career, achieving that total from just 12 starts—numbers that underline both her consistency and competitiveness on the local scene.

Ridden with sound judgment by Húber Bocanegra, Forty Estrella was always well placed, traveling comfortably just behind the early pace before launching her move at precisely the right moment. Turning for home, she responded with authority to her rider’s cues and quickly opened up, drawing clear of her rivals.

The favorite British Pride (Vino Rosso) attempted to keep up but had to settle for second, 1 3/4 lengths back, while La Abadesa (Eye On Jacob) completed the trifecta, another 2 1/2 lengths behind, in a race that unfolded logically and finished without incident.

Prepared by Juan Suárez, Forty Estrella arrived at this engagement in excellent physical condition, something clearly reflected in her finishing kick and in the way she sustained her advantage all the way to the wire. The fractions—:24.48, :51.93 and 1:15.30—led to a final time of 1:34.15, fitting a well-run and evenly paced contest.

Forty Estrella was coming off a win at the allowance level but had already shown promise in stakes company, having finished second in both the República de Ecuador and Kevin, as well as fourth in the Lady Shatzi.

With this victory, the filly lifted her earnings to 44,360 soles, solidifying a profile that invites consideration of further stakes challenges, provided her progression continues along the upward path she is currently following.
