A week of rather limited action is ahead regarding stakes races at the country's central tracks. With several handicaps in the mix, the main highlight will be brought by Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo on Sunday, the 29th, with the Clásico Pedro E. y Manuel A. Crespo (G3-1,400 m, dirt), for 2-year-olds and a bridge toward the Gran Premio Montevideo(G1) and Gran Premio Jorge de Atucha (G1).

Since its inception, it has never been a race that drew a large crowd, immersed in a setting where graded stakes for juveniles are already overabundant, and thus it should surprise no one that only 5 were entered, in this case, all colts.

With a winner's purse of 14,955,000, the issue will be settled between Desert Voice (Dabster), El Pecadito (Cima de Triomphe), Full Lujoso (Full Mast), Los Llanos (Le Blues), and The Great Terms (The Great Day).

Downtown will also host racing on Friday the 27th and Monday the 30th, with handicaps as the most important events.

The first of those dates will revolve around the Handicap Elías Antúnez (1,800 m, dirt), for fillies and mares 4 years old and up, winners. There are 10 probable participants, with Gigantografía (Bodemeister) and It's My Look (Equal Stripes) sharing the top weight of 60 kilos.

On Monday, meanwhile, the Handicap Jacinto Rafael Herrera (1,200 m, dirt) and the Handicap Resuello (1,100 m, dirt) will be contested, the former for mares 5 years old and up and the latter for all horses 4 years old and up, always winners.

With 10 entries, Rollanda (Bodemeister) received the high weight of 58 kilos in the Jacinto Herrera, while among 18 probables, several will carry heavy imposts in the Resuello: El Mejor Recuerdo (Il Campione, 64), Aires de Gloria(Angiolo, 62), Contra Pronóstico (Daddy Long Legs, 61 1/2)—inexplicable, by the way—and Hiran (Santillano, 61).

Declarations for the 3 meetings will be taken until noon next Monday, and the final programs will be released in the afternoon.
