Ask for Wild confirmed his rise, capitalized on the featherweight, and scored a dream-building victory

The Rosario native scored by a length over Lyon in the Handicap Día del Médico Veterinario and makes a compelling case for a step up to stakes company

The rise of the Rosario native Ask for Wild, for the moment, has no ceiling. The Handicap Día del Médico Veterinario(1,000 m, dirt), which completed Monday's stakes double at Hipódromo Palermo, was a tough spot, but the runner for Stud Los 7 Nietos resolved it with clarity in the final stages.

Of course, carrying only 52 1/2 kilos was a detail that played heavily in his favor, but taking credit away from the son of Angiolo would be unfair, as he was always alert and ready to best defend his surprising favoritism on the tote board. As the meters ticked away, the winner moved closer, and from the 400-meter mark to the wire, he delivered the final blow, taking command in the final furlong and finishing strongly. Closing with a long run, Lyon (Lenovo, 60) ultimately finished second by a half-length, putting a nose down over El Luciano, whom he caught right on the line. All this was achieved in a final time of 56.88 after blazing fractions of :22.77 and :44.54.

Out of Forever Will (Forestry), Ask for Wild is trained by Daniel Cima at the Independencia in Rosario, boasting an impressive physique at 547 kilos. Since being settled over the kilometer distance, he improved his efficiency and, as of late, has become almost infallible.

Since his official debut with a third-place finish in a division of the Encuentro Provincial in mid-2024, Ask for Wild has continued to transform and improve into this current version that is practically screaming for a shot in short-distance stakes company. It is not hard to imagine that, when that opportunity arrives, he will not go unnoticed.
