At La Plata, a Week Featuring 4 Cards and a Pair of Decorative Stakes Events

El Bosque Will Open Its Doors on Saturday 24, Sunday 25, Tuesday 27, and Friday 30 of This Month; the Especial Lunasia, Especial Vitelio, and Handicap Haras Orilla del Monte Have Been Canceled

LA PLATA.— The racetrack in this city finalized on Monday the structure for its next four meetings, in a sequence that will begin on Saturday 24 and continue on Sunday 25, Tuesday 27, and Friday 30 of this month, albeit featuring a severely weakened stakes schedule.
This comes after the cancellation of the Especial Lunasia and Especial Vitelio, along with the Handicap Haras Orilla del Monte, leaving the programs on Sunday the 25th and Friday the 30th composed entirely of allowance and maiden events.
The most significant action will take place on Saturday 24, with the running of the Clásico República de Ecuador (1500 m, dirt) and the Clásico Rival Dan (1500 m, dirt)—the former for mares 5 years old and up, and the latter for 3-year-olds, both under weight-for-age conditions.
La Cordial (Santillano), Camionette (Fortify), Hi Crystal (Hi Happy), Cancha Rayada (Strategos), Red Chilly (Il Mercato), and Total Triomphe (Cima de Triomphe) will be the sole 5 contenders for the first of those events.
Meanwhile, the 6 confirmed runners for the Clásico Rival Dan are: Ofuscador (Daniel Boone), Desert Voice (Dabster), Lo Más de Sandino (Sandino Ruler), Henry the Champ (Puerto Escondido), Sunny Thunder (Dubai Thunder), and Vertiginoso (Japan).
On Tuesday, October 27, it will be the turn of the long-standing Especial Rey del Bosque, which over 1400 meters will pit horses 5 years old and up with 3 or more wins against each other.
There, too, the list of confirmed entries remained sparse, with just 5 names on the card and Colour Visión (Univisión) assigned top weight honors at 60 kilos. Joining him in the starting gate will be Don Chamamé (Long Island Sound, 56), Bienhechor (Hurricane Cat, 56), Dom Moore (Storm Embrujado, 54), and Fancy Model (Lizard Island, 58).
On Sunday 25, the primary attraction will come in the Premio Verdún (1000 m), for 3-year-old colts with one previous victory, while Friday 30 will feature a couple of allowance condition races for multiple-winning veterans to keep the program from falling completely flat.
With 4 meetings crammed into a brief window, La Plata will command substantial focus in the coming days as the circuit builds momentum toward the Gran Premio Dardo Rocha.
