The son of Cosmic Trigger will shoulder the top weight of 62 kg. in the Especial Rico, to be contested over the dirt surface at San Isidro

A lackluster program is set for this Wednesday at San Isidro Racecourse, where the primary interest lies in the Especial Rico (1800 m). Open to 5-year-olds and upward with three or more wins, the race offers a meager purse of 5,125,000 pesos to the winner—hardly a figure fitting for the distance and category.
With only seven confirmed runners and the likely prospect of a heavy track, the stage appears set for Atomic Trigger to return to the winner's circle, despite being assigned the demanding top weight of 62 kg.
The son of Cosmic Trigger is already a three-time handicap winner and finds himself facing a group significantly softer than his recent company. Racing for Stud To-No-Go, he enters off a solid third-place finish in the Handicap Good Time, where he finished three lengths behind Boyero Spring (Greenspring) while outperforming notable rivals like Emergent (Il Campione).
A courageous runner typically found on or near the lead, Atomic Trigger will have to contend with Stormy Wind (Forge, 56 kg.). The latter arrives in peak form following his fourth lifetime victory, a dominant 3 1/2-length score over Tremendo Rayo (Southern Cat) at this same track, where he carried 5 1/2 kilos more than his rival with ease.
Rounding out the main contenders is the stakes winner Quality Boy (Asiatic Boy, 58 kg.), who has been regaining his best form while alternating between the main tracks and provincial circuits. After a strong showing in the Clásico Aniversario Ciudad de La Punta, he was seen just last week finishing a close second—beaten only a neck—by Don Galeón (Il Campione) at San Isidro in a spot very similar to today’s challenge.
