Balsa and Bayakoa Complete a Superb Panorama at San Isidro

The stakes events will bolster Saturday's program alongside the Gran Premio 2000 Guineas (G1)

Hipódromo de San Isidro was also hard at work this Tuesday, as is customary, putting together its next two race cards scheduled for Saturday the 25th and Wednesday the 29th of this month.

Naturally, the centerpiece is set for the weekend, featuring a must-see program led by the Gran Premio 2000 Guineas (G1), the traditional mile contest on the turf that marks the first major stepping stone of the second half of the year for 3-year-old colts.

In addition, the card will showcase two other stakes events: the Clásico Eudoro J. Balsa (G3-1600m, turf) and the Clásico Bayakoa (L-1600m, turf), the former reserved for fillies and mares 4 years old and up, and the latter for 3-year-old fillies.

With two scratches recorded, eight fillies and mares were confirmed for the Balsa: Adi Shakti (Lucullan), Casa Pueblo(Strategos), Casi Toda Candy Ride (Strategos), Igual No Soy (John F Kennedy), Orphila (Daniel Boone), Reina Secreta (Victor Security), Samba do Brazil (Springdom), and Stormy Summer (Nicholas).

Meanwhile, the Bayakoa saw the same number of scratches, leaving just five contenders in the field, led by Gota Clara Sos (Made You Look), winner of the Eliseo Ramírez (G1), runner-up in the Gran Premio de Potrancas (G1), and coming off an unplaced effort in the Estrellas Juvenile Fillies (G1).

Hi Intense (Hi Happy), Just Dance (Daniel Boone), Uda (Nicholas), and Ruby Rose (Il Campione) will cross paths with the chestnut filly from Stud Pauli.

The Bayakoa will be tasked with kicking off the stakes triple header around 3:50 p.m., while the 2000 Guineas will go off at 4:55 p.m. as the ninth race on the card. The Eudoro J. Balsa will close out the feature events around 5:30 p.m., right after the 3-year-old colt clash.

Regarding the card on Wednesday the 29th, the Handicap Fitzcarraldo will provide the main attraction, contested over 1300 meters on the main dirt track for fillies and mares 5 years old and up. Top weight of 63 kg will be carried by Verenna (Cosmic Trigger), who will share the gate with Ana de Armas (Angiolo, 51 1/2 kg.), Princesa Candy (Señor Candy, 52 kg.), Naja (Fortify, 57 1/2 kg.), Queen's Reward (Grand Reward, 54 kg.), Joy Traviesa (Fortify, 58 1/2 kg.), Vieja Amiga Mask (Mask, 59 kg.), Full Odalis (Full Mast, 55 1/2 kg.), and Nashville Blue (Nashville Texan, 55 kg.).
