The colt, conditioned by trainer Daniel Cima, enters the race on the heels of a dominant, drawing-away victory at Independencia Racetrack at Rosario

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina— The 36th edition of the prestigious Carreras de las Estrellas festival kicks off this Friday at Hipódromo de San Isidro with the running of the Clásico Estrellas Dirt. Contested over 1,300 meters on the main track, the race is one of the most recent additions to the schedule by the Fundación Equina Argentina, designed specifically to showcase juveniles that have not yet competed at the major metropolitan venues of San Isidro, Palermo, or La Plata.
Trainer Daniel Cima arrives from the Hipódromo Independencia in Rosario with a powerful uncoupled entry, led by the highly regarded Barbarian (Qué Vida Buena). The colt enters on the heels of a dominant, drawing-away six-length victory over 1,200 meters in non-wagering company on his home track. Cima will also saddle Vivir En Paz (Fortify), an impeccably bred individual whose strong morning signals fully justify the shipping expenses.
Trainer Pablo Dotzel also holds a strong hand with a dual-pronged attack for ownership group Stud Anaxor, sending out Harry El Sucio (Daniel Boone) and Viuvinho (Manipulator). Both colts exit impressive performances on May 10 at El Fogón de Lamarque in Río Negro. Harry El Sucio captured the five-furlong Polla de Potrillos Socios Fundadores, while his stablemate took down the seven-furlong Polla de Potrillos Jorge Valdivieso.
Positive reports have also emerged surrounding El Chavito (Made You Look), who will carry the highly successful silks of Stud Pauli, while Alabama Blues (Hi Happy) arrives from the central region of Buenos Aires Province with high expectations.
Given the unexposed nature of the field, pre-race warmups and tote board activity will be critical indicators for evaluating the nine participants, who will be competing for a winner's share of 12,500,000 pesos.
