With the end of February comes the review of the statistics from the first two months of the year. According to the figures provided by the Stud Book Argentino, the rankings feature several familiar names alongside others making a strong surge.

For instance, seeing Il Campione (Scat Daddy) leading the stallions, Haras El Paraíso atop the breeders, and Orpen(Lure) heading the broodmare sires feels like a "copy and paste" of most months in previous years. However, the novelty lies in the dominance of Stud Pauli among the stables. Meanwhile, inheriting the victory in the Gran Premio Miguel A. Martínez de Hoz (G1) allowed Thor Medina to end the initial bimester as the leader among horses.

Stallions and Breeders

Il Campione had a somewhat slow start to 2026, but as he gained momentum, he began racking up victories, reaching the top with $233,911,614 pesos in earnings. This gives him a significant lead over Daddy Long Legs (Scat Daddy), who totaled $168,267,040. Close behind is Le Blues (Roman Ruler) as the highest-ranked Argentine sire, followed by Fortify (Distorted Humor) and Treasure Beach (Galileo).

In the breeders' category, El Paraíso saw its products cross the line first 59 times between January and February, bringing its earnings to $487,625,117, well ahead of La Pasión, which sits in second with $322,817,500. Firmamentoholds third place, followed by Vacación and Abolengo, completing a top five that is becoming a staple of the circuit.

Broodmare Sires

The battle is much closer among broodmare sires. Orpen, Easing Along (Storm Cat), and Sebi Halo (Southern Halo) are the three leaders, with earnings of $242,063,141, $222,688,747, and $208,916,142, respectively. They are followed by the great Pure Prize (Storm Cat) in fourth and Roman Ruler (Fusaichi Pegasus) completing the top five.

Owners and Horses

With a formidable 55.2% effectiveness and 16 wins, Stud Pauli’s harvest in the first bimester was exceptional, placing them comfortably at the top of the owners' standings. Their revenue of $105,007,000 was largely contributed by Garboso Frank (Gidu), Gota Clara Sos (Made You Look), Talento Emergente (Hurricane Cat), and El Rayo Pass(Distinctiv Passion). Following two productive months, Rubio B. climbed to the runner-up spot, ahead of Mamina, El Marne, and Firmamento.

Among individual horses, the result of the Gran Premio Miguel A. Martínez de Hoz (G1) was influential. Thor Medina (Mootasadir) —declared the winner following the disqualification of Full Keynote (Full Mast)— reached the top with $52,520,000. He is followed by Chelato (Cosmic Trigger), Lessons of Life (Le Blues), Tamarisco Cat(Southern Cat) —winner of the Gran Premio Vicente Dupuy (G3)— and Garboso Frank.
