It will be a continuous show this afternoon at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, featuring another forgettable card—a common trend at the start of 2026 on our tracks—with the main attraction being the Handicap Rafale (1,400m, dirt) for winning mares aged 5 and up.

In a field of eight confirmed runners, Blessed Shine will seek another victory in this category despite having to shoulder a heavy 61 kilos. This is two kilos more than she carried in mid-December when she claimed the Handicap Orpen, defeating South Briole (South Kissing) by three lengths.

Always generous in showing speed from the start, the daughter of Honour Devil will mainly need to watch out for the consistent Victoria Bayern (Santillano, 56 1/2). She boasts several stakes placings in her career and comes in sharp after bravely securing her fourth victory.

Emma Linda (Emmanuel, 54 1/2) will carry a much lighter weight; she is coming off a third-place finish in the aforementioned Handicap Orpen and is looking for revenge. Meanwhile, Princesa Candy (Señor Candy, 51) will carry an inexplicably low weight, backed by her strong recent form.

Baronesa Latina (Seek Again, 55) has one win less than the previous contender but will carry four more kilos. Despite the challenge, her debut at this higher level could result in a breakout performance. Finally, Emma Novela (Emmanuel, 54) previously lost by just 3/4 of a length to Miss Talento (Equal Talent) in the Handicap Mouchette, though that was over 1,800 meters.
