In the best performance of his career, the Bar Royal colt delivered a stunning upset at San Isidro, defeating the multiple stakes winner Despacito by 3 lengths

Returning to the winner's circle after an unremarkable performance over the mile in the Gran Premio Joaquín S. de Anchorena (G1), Bluclette Rim comfortably secured the Clásico Asociación Argentina de Fomento Equino (L-1200m, diagonal turf), the feature race of an entertaining Sunday card at San Isidro.
Carrying an intermediate weight of 56.5 kg and running with the poise of a heavy favorite, the son of Remote dominated a highly competitive field, extending the hot streak for trainer Gerardo Alteño, who prepares the Stud Bar Royal bay (though Néstor Bello appears as the trainer of record on the program).
Jockey William Pereyra wasted no time; as soon as the gates opened, he sent the son of Remote straight to the lead. Once positioned at the front, he kept Tren de Vida (Mootasadir, 54 kg) and Beauty Sea (Seahenge, 58.5 kg) at bay. Upon entering the homestretch, Bluclette Rim widened his advantage and never faltered, coasting from the 300-meter mark to the wire to eventually defeat the ageless Despacito (Sabayón, 61 kg) by 3 lengths. Finishing a neck behind in third was Rumbo Al Abra (Manipulator), ahead of a disappointing Beauty Sea. The winning time was a sharp 1m08s03/100, following brisk fractions of 23s84/100 and 46s16/100.
The 4-year-old was bred by Haras Firmamento and competed in their colors during the early part of his career before being purchased by his current owners at the nursery's most recent horses-in-training sale. While it had been some time since he displayed this level of form, he was a notable protagonist in the 2024 juvenile selection process, finishing third in the Clásico Manuel Anasagasti (L) and fourth in the Clásico Old Man (G3). With 5 career victories, Bluclette Rim clearly feels most at home in turn-sprints, a category where he has multiple high-level options to continue winning. In this current form, he will always be a rival to respect.
