Within a major racing card, the son of Equal Stripes goes for another victory in the distance, in a clash of 3-year-olds

Flag Day will be celebrated in grand style at Palermo Racecourse, featuring an 18-race program that includes several high-profile contests, highlighted by the Clásico General Belgrano (G2-2500 m), the most important event of the season for staying specialists on the dirt.
Scheduled as the twelfth race of the day, with post time set for around 17:55 hours, the event has gathered a highly qualified field of participants, featuring well-known figures alongside others aiming to join the elite ranks.
Most eyes will be focused on the talented Blue Caviar, the younger brother to the brilliant champions Blue Prize (Pure Prize) and Blue Stripe (Equal Stripes). A homebred for Haras Pozo de Luna, he was one of the top 3-year-olds of 2025, capturing the Clásico Martínez (G3) and Clásico Casey (G2), though he disappointed in the Gran Premio Nacional (G1), where he started as a heavy favorite.
Nearly 7 months had to pass before he returned to action, a comeback that coincided with a hard-fought victory in the Clásico Malvinas Argentinas (L). Now with that recent racing fitness under his belt, he will surely showcase his best form.
A fierce rival is always Sono Perfetto (Tetaze), a benchmark among the stayers in La Plata who is looking to secure a major achievement at the main tracks, where he has not managed to stand out so far. He finished a subpar fourth in the Clásico Otoño (G2) and is coming off a poor performance on the turf in the Gran Premio 25 de Mayo (G1), but he is a much better horse than that.
Sono Perfetto will attempt to run on the lead, as is his custom, but he might face a significant challenge there from an old acquaintance: Nassau. The son of Forge is undefeated in 2 starts since moving to the stable of Juan Carlos and Juan Sebastián Maldotti, leaving a remarkable impression, and he already knows what it is to finish ahead of the former in the Clásico Jockey Club de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (G2). If he continues his upward trajectory, he will make anyone in his path work hard.
Riding a three-race winning streak, Manalishi (Galicado) takes a step up in class regarding his rivals, but arrives full of confidence, while Private Blend (Lucullan) and Rio Moro (Equal Stripes) remain as names capable of capitalizing on any favorable situation.
