For debuting fillies and colts, they will be a special part of this afternoon’s card at the Jockey Club track

The very entertaining card put together for this Friday on turf at Hipódromo de San Isidro will also feature 2-year-olds in leading roles, courtesy of the traditional Clásico Juan S. Boucau (1500m) and Clásico José B. Zubiaurre (1500m), for debuting fillies and colts, respectively, with the latter divided into two sections.
The fifth race will see the first division of the Zubiaurre, where none of the entrants has exactly set the clocks alight. From the Las Monjitas camp, expectations are high for Entrometido (Equal Stripes), trained by Carlos D. Etchechoury, who has shown a variety of encouraging works. Some of those moves were shared with Don Pacto (Pneumatic), from San Benito, trained by Manuela Basombrío, who may have posted the best workout of all, covering a mile on the fourth track in just over 1:42.
In the second division, the Las Monjitas team and Dany Etchechoury again have strong hopes, this time with Stay Tune (Fortify), who worked 1400 meters alongside Entrometido in 1:30 2/5 and, most notably, impressed in his final breeze, stopping the clock just over 1:01 for 1000 meters.
Juan Javier, Dany’s brother, holds a potential ace with Marc Weather (Marconi), one of the standouts in morning training, while Nicolás Martín Ferro is optimistic about Excitement (Il Campione), who also boasts a strong pedigree.
As for the Clásico Juan S. Boucau, Stud-Haras Firmamento will be strongly represented by The Great Dansili and The Great Love, both daughters of The Great Day trained by Lucas Gaitán, who have more than met expectations in their morning preparations.
At Gran Muñeca, confidence is placed in Moon Sold (Made You Look), a half-sister to Moon Frank (Gidu), the latest winner of the Gran Premio Polla de Potrancas (G1), who heads into the race off a fair workout and a solid final breeze. From the inside post will break Deep Heart, a Dabster filly trained by Juan Saldivia, arriving in good condition, while Rebel Yell (Imperador) is another to watch, having been specifically pointed to this race.
