On December 5th, everything came crashing down for Brian Enrique. In the first race of that Wednesday at San Isidro Racecourse, he fell from Tiro Justo (Got Talent), fracturing his right clavicle. Not only did he miss the Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini (G1) meeting, but he was also faced with a couple of months of recovery.

This Friday, 71 days — 10 full weeks — after the accident, the jockey from Santa Fe made his return to action with a victory. The effort to come back, and the natural anxiety, found the ideal reward aboard Alpes Nevados (Angiolo out of Brussels, by Incurable Optimist, Haras El Paraíso), guiding him to an easy win in the Premio Usia over 1000 meters, for 3-year-old maidens.

Leading from start to finish, the Orillas del Lago stable runner, trained by Rolando Vega, successfully moved up from the lowest category in his second outing, just two months after debuting with a seventh-place finish in one of the Encuentro Provincial Machos races.

Enrique's return to the Buenos Aires track continued in the eighth race, but he finished seventh and last aboard Acero Cat (Hurricane Cat) in the Premio Poseído, closing out his first day of action after his recovery and eagerness to get back on track.
