Brian Enrique started and finished Monday’s card at Hipódromo de Palermo with a brilliant treble

The jockey scored aboard La Caldenada, Forlita Roll, and Apasionada Cat to reach 147 wins on the season; The Outsider provided another highlight among the day's condition races

From the opening wire to the closing event on Monday at Hipódromo de Palermo, Brian Enrique found plenty of reasons to leave thoroughly satisfied. On a low-grade card, the jockey captured three of the condition races, once again demonstrating the signature blend of energy and consistency that keeps him among the top figures in the rider standings.
The hat-trick raised his tally to 147 victories on the season, with 70 of those coming on the dirt track at the capital circuit. They are figures that reflect both the sheer volume of opportunities and his ability to capitalize on them in a profession where maintaining form over so many months is just as vital as shining on marquee big-race days.
His first score arrived right as the program got underway, courtesy of La Caldenada (South Kissing), who took the Premio Monserga. Weighing in at a modest 415 kilograms, the small filly put a disappointing debut behind her to break her maiden on her second try. The turnaround was immediate, giving a whole new trajectory to a career that is just getting under way.
Enrique returned to the winner’s circle in the third race, this time guiding Forlita Roll (Cinnamon Roll) among seasoned multi-race winners. There he had to call deep upon one of his most recognizable assets: his relentless driving strength in the final strides. The neck margin separating his mount from the runner-up speaks to a tight finish where his raw vigor played a decisive role.
With two early wins under his belt, the jockey still had one more triumph ahead. He secured it in the nightcap aboard Apasionada Cat (Magical Touch), completing the treble and earning the satisfaction of bookending the entire card. Much like La Caldenada, the 4-year-old mare had left a poor impression on debut, but she displayed a completely different version of herself this time to shed her maiden tag by two lengths.
Beyond Enrique's triple, the seventh race—the Premio Villanita—provided another performance worth noting. Reserved for 4-year-olds with two wins over 1,000 meters in the alternative category, the sprint went to The Outsider, a horse with a genuine stakes background.
Winner of the Clásico Candy Ride last season and second in the Clásico Urbano de Iriondo (L) while racing for Haras El Ángel de Venecia, he now flies the colors of Stud Doña Juanita from Santa Rosa. Coming off a placing, he seized the opening to rediscover the winning habit.
With Gustavo Calvente in the irons, the son of Roman Joy drew off to beat Machu Picchu (Grand Reward) by three lengths, stopping the clock in a sharp :56.59 for the kilometer. His black-type class stood out to produce a prompt result at a lower level, providing another highlight on an afternoon that belonged to Brian Enrique.
