Juan de Diego, acting on commission, acquired the daughter of Distinctiv Passion for 14,000,000 pesos at the conclusion of the online auction

The auction market moves forward, awaiting the arrival of the first 2024 foals to the ring next week. This Thursday, under a 100 percent online format, the Racehorse firm held its Great Training Sale, where the top prices fell upon the group of reserved fillies presented by Haras El Alfalfar.
With precocity as its banner, Alfredo Camogli is already working with the next generation in mind, and therefore decided to offer in the virtual ring a small lot of 2-year-old fillies by the super-effective Distinctiv Passion (With Distinction), most of them yet to debut.
Among them, the top price was reached by Calesita Pass, unraced and the first foal out of Bien Porteña Song(Alcindor), a winner on her debut at age 3 in San Isidro. After a long struggle, the chestnut remained in the hands of Juan de Diego, acting as an agent on commission, in exchange for 14,000,000 pesos, just under 10,000 dollars.
The dam of Calesita Pass is a maternal sister to Gardel Pass (Distinctiv Passion), who in 2025 won the Gran Premio Polla de Potrillos (G1), and to Papusa Pass (Distinctiv Passion), one of the most outstanding 2-year-olds of her crop, winning the Clásico Saturnino J. Unzué (G2) and Clásico Carlos Casares (G3) at Palermo, in one of the stud's foundation pedigrees.
The second-highest figure went to another unraced Distinctiv Passion, Pasionaria Pass, who was acquired for 9,500,000 pesos, also by Juan de Diego on commission.
A sister to winners Adorado Song (Alcindor) and De Locura Pass (Distinctiv Passion), the filly's dam is Pasiones Key(Key Deputy), a maternal sister to G1 winner Compasivo Cat (Easing Along), and from the close family of Sarzana Pass (Distinctiv Passion), Lagoa Azul (Lenovo), and Salteño Pass (Distinctiv Passion), among others.
Finally, the podium of top prices was completed by Filosófica Pass (Distinctiv Passion), for whom the hammer fell on a final bid of 8,500,000 pesos from Julio C. Conti for Haras Bernagi.
Unraced, the chestnut is a granddaughter of the stakes winner Weeping Cat (Easing Along), a full sister to the champion sprinter Llorón Cat, the unforgettable Tristeza Cat—winner of 23 races—and a maternal sister to the multiple G3 winner Che Patrón Key (Key Deputy).
