The Strategos filly, a last-out runner-up in the Clásico Fortunato Damiani (G3), will look to turn the tables over 1400 meters in the Andrés S. Torres (G3), where she’ll face a tough test against a rival who was ultra-impressive on debut

LA PLATA.- The road to the top for juvenile fillies continues this afternoon at Hipódromo de La Plata, where a grueling surface and a testing 1400 meters await in the G3 Clásico Andrés S. Torres.
With standout Citana (Endorsement) aiming toward the upcoming Gran Premio de Potrancas (G1) on the turf at San Isidro, this could be a prime opportunity for Calle de Tierra to reclaim the winner’s circle and reassert herself at the head of the division.
The daughter of Strategos opened her career with four straight victories, but her streak came to an end when she met the talented chestnut from Stud Pauli, settling for second by just half a length in the G3 Clásico Fortunato Damiani over 1300 meters. That day, she showed speed on the front end through strong fractions, but if she hopes to go one better today, she’ll need to ration her energy more effectively and prove she can stay the extra furlong.
There will be no shortage of serious opposition, led by Hi Crystal (Hi Happy), who turned heads when romping by 8 lengths on debut over the same trip she’ll face today—and on a similarly heavy surface. Conditions shouldn’t faze her in the slightest.
Day Light (Hurricane Cat), unbeaten in one start, ships in from the Villa Hípica at Palermo with Omar Labanca and Lautaro Balmaceda. She kicked off her career with a half-length win going 1200 meters over the San Isidro turf, defeating Paris Je T’Aime (Hit It a Bomb). Her inexperience with La Plata’s dirt remains a question mark.
Just 12 days ago, Elenika (Winning Prize) got the better of La Tasmania (Mask) by 2 lengths in a local allowance over 1200 meters. Both will now step into stakes company together, with Elenika hoping for a breakthrough after a pair of underwhelming tries at this level.
Animal Beach (El Animal) and Ree Libertadora (Reelants), still maidens, will take their chances in deep waters. They may look overmatched on paper, but in racing, dreams drive ambition—and they’re here to dream big, no matter how distant the goal may seem.
