LA PLATA.- Opening the stakes card on an unusual Friday at La Plata, the fillies will take center stage in a new edition of the Clásico Eusonio C. Boni (L, 1100m, dirt), with eyes on securing a spot in the upcoming Clásico Ciudad de La Plata (G2).

At the top of the seven-horse field is clearly Calle de Tierra, unquestionably the season’s leading young sprinter at La Plata, looking to reinforce that reputation. The Strategos filly has won five of seven starts, with her only defeats coming when stretched beyond her preferred distance. Returning to her favored sprinting division, she claimed the Clásico Raúl Lottero (L), narrowly defeating Tranquila Señora (Fortify), who now seeks revenge.

From San Isidro’s Campo 2, Emprestada (Cosmic Trigger) arrives under the guidance of the unstoppable Nicolás Martín Ferro, coming off a commanding, front-running conditional win in the north. This will mark her stakes debut.

From the inside post, Porteña Starry Bomb (Hit It a Bomb)—winner of the Clásico Wilfredo Latham (L) and third in the Raúl Lottero—looks to rebound despite a slightly below-par last effort.

The race promises to be heated, with the pace expected to be hot. Among the potential surprises, Merle Oberon (Equal Talent) is worth noting; she has won two of four and is on the rise.
