Reprising, and back at sprinting, the Strategos filly won the Clásico Raúl Lottero (L); in the stretch she was bumped by Tranquila Señora, but fortunately recovered

LA PLATA.- After three months off and returning to sprint distances, Calle de Tierra showed her best form and returned to the winner’s circle this Tuesday at Hipódromo de Palermo, capturing the Clásico Raúl Lottero (L-1200 m, dirt) and establishing herself as the division leader.
The performance of the Strategos–La Campagne (Le Blues) filly was highly commendable, as she suffered a serious stumble during the race that she miraculously overcame—she very well could have fallen. Fortunately, she recovered and completed an impressive effort.
With Walter Aguirre in the saddle, as in all her previous outings, the Stud El Gruñón filly broke sharply, battling Energía y Vida (Il Campione) and Tranquila Señora (Fortify) through an opening quarter of 23.83 seconds.
As the race developed, the winner and Tranquila Señora continued the fight until the stretch, when Tranquila Señora veered sharply inward, hitting the favorite in the flank and almost taking her down. With remarkable elasticity, Calle de Tierra recovered almost instantly, kept battling, and took command in the final furlong to prevail by half a length. Hit It a Bomb finished third, just a neck behind, while Llamame a la Tarde (Presagio Key) and Energía y Vida closed out the field, with a final time of 1:11.77.
Trained by Luis H. Domínguez, Calle de Tierra now has five wins from seven starts, four of them at stakes level, and is shaping up as a possible contender for the Clásico Ciudad de La Plata (G2, 3-year-old fillies) on November 19 during the Rocha Festival (G1), though continuing against her own sex remains an option. She has the ability to pursue either path.
