The son of Strategos will face several dangerous rivals in Tuesday’s feature event at Hipódromo de La Plata

LA PLATA.- After the tremendous celebration experienced Monday at Hipódromo de San Isidro during the Gran Premio 25 de Mayo (G1) meeting, the spotlight now shifts this afternoon to the local track, where another important card awaits.
The Clásico 25 de Mayo de 1810 (G2-1600m, dirt) will headline the program, which will also feature the Handicap Haras Pozo de Luna (1200m, dirt) as part of the stakes action.
The patriotic feature promises a particularly compelling spectacle, with multiple challenges awaiting Campo Verde, the colt trained by Miguel Cafere and presented by Miguel Gómez specifically for this assignment after excelling between 1000 and 1400 meters.
This will mark the first attempt at a mile for the son of Strategos, who remains unbeaten at La Plata through three starts, including victories in the Clásico Jockey Club Argentino (L) and the Clásico Vilas Light.
The opposition, however, will be formidable.
Among his key rivals stands Storm Sound (Hi Happy), the leading horse of the division locally during 2025 and now looking to rediscover that level after several disappointing performances.
Also entered is El Ernesto (Señor Candy), who followed his victory in La Plata’s Clásico Carlos Spegazzini by stretching out onto the San Isidro turf, where he finished runner-up to champion Colifato Novo (Lenovo) in the Clásico Southern Halo (G3).
Another major contender is Don Zahir (Daddy Long Legs), who before disappointing in the Clásico El Virtuoso had captured the Good Manners at Palermo in highly convincing style.
Colour Vision (Univision) and Bombay Lake (Anjiz Lake) bring consistency while stepping into tougher company than they have recently faced, while Vampiro Zen (Zensational) already owns valuable experience against strong opposition, often with very respectable results.
In the handicap for horses aged 4 and up with three or more victories, much attention will center on Magyar (Lenovo, 55 1/2 kilos), winner of the Especial Malvinas Argentinas before a solid third-place finish in the Clásico Julio Corte (L).
