Saturday’s feature program at San Isidro will open with the Clásico Didia, a one–mile turf test for fillies and mares four and up that serves as a steppingstone toward the Carlos P. Rodríguez (G2). Only six were confirmed for the modest purse of 8,600,000 pesos, with Candlelit looking to hold a slight edge.

The Equal Stripes filly has proven inconsistent, finishing fourth, beaten 3 1/4 lengths by Elvitas (Cosmic Trigger), in the Clásico Eudoro J. Balsa (G3) last time out. Earlier in the season, however, she showed her best when taking the Clásico General Las Heras (G3) in May.

Her main danger appears to be Same Treasure (Treasure Beach), who has been knocking on the door and looks poised for a breakthrough. She finished ahead of Candlelit in the Balsa before coming home fifth behind Noche Alta (Hi Happy) in the Clásico Sibila (G2) over a rain–affected course.

Also in good form is Lost Beach (Treasure Beach), runner-up in the Handicap Cipayo before finishing fourth in the Sibila, a performance that suggests she can be competitive again over this trip.

From the conditions ranks, Adi Shakti (Lucullan) takes her chance off back-to-back wins, while Lancara (Manipulator) and Alambradora Si (Silentio) will be hoping to spring an upset.

The Clásico Didia will open San Isidro’s feature action, honoring the champion mare now a broodmare in the U.S., who carried the Argentine flag with distinction on the international stage.
