Bossy Becky, a daughter of the champion Candy Ride out of the same female family as Flightline (Tapit) and in foal to Gouverneur Morris (Constitution), commanded the top price at the Haras La Nora Broodmare Sale, held Tuesday via online format and organized by Racehorse.

A long and fierce bidding war broke out between two farms from La Pampa for the bay mare, ending when Haras Alborada outlasted Chiapill with a final bid of US$ 26,400 to add her to their broodmare band. Born in 2020 and runner-up at age 2 in the United States in her only career start, the mare represented a unique and highly interesting genetic package for the local market, making her position at the top of the auction entirely logical.

Silvestre Blousson’s stud farm reduced its roster by offering high-quality lots with strong pregnancies or breeding rights, resulting in a robust response from buyers. To date, Bossy Becky stands as the highest price paid across the various auctions held so far this season.

The second-highest price was paid for the multiple stakes winner Capa Que Si (Lizard Island). In foal to Dr. Post (Quality Road)—carrying what will be her third foal, with none yet of racing age—she reached US$ 16,800, with Marcos Alfonso securing her for Haras Masama, another breeder based in La Pampa. Capa Que Si is a granddaughter of Equal Stripes and features a pedigree including Champion Sprinter Capo Máximo (Farnesio), Champion 2-Year-Old Filly Contessa Linda (Lizard Island), and Champion 2-Year-Old Colt San Livinus (Mutakddim).

Rounding out the top three was Salty Mo, another American mare with a notable pedigree. A daughter of Uncle Mo and a sister to the dam of champion Goodnight Olive (Ghostzapper)—two-time winner of the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1) and Champion Sprinter in the U.S.—she was sold in foal to Gouverneur Morris for US$ 14,400 to Haras Alborada, who remained highly active throughout the auction.

Additionally, US$ 10,800 was the price tag for both A Puga (Easing Along), a sister to Portal del Alto (Malibu Moon), and Marycasey (Candy Ride), purchased by Haras Los Turfistas and Haras Alborada, respectively.
