After Finishing Second to Tiz Joy in the Eliseo Ramírez (G2), the Triple Alliance Trainee Will Aim to Triumph Against Strong-Ranked Rivals

One of the spotlight this Sunday at Hipódromo de San Isidro will be on the Gran Premio de Potrancas (G1), the sole Group 1 turf race for fillies in the first half of the year, contested over a mile. The race will see the notable absence of Tiz Joy(Fortify), who had claimed the Clásico Eliseo Ramírez (G2) a few weeks ago.
With that, the top spot in the rankings is wide open—at least until the chestnut from Firmamento returns—and the leading candidate to inherit that throne is Charm (Strategos), who now faces the challenge of stretching out successfully to this distance.
Owned by Triple Alliance, Charm debuted impressively and followed up with a solid runner-up effort in the Ramírez, falling by just half a length. She has maintained her form while aiming for the next step upward, though she will face several dangerous rivals.
Among them is Plaza Athenee (Il Campione), who made a strong statement on debut with a sweeping late rally to win the Clásico Juan S. Boucau; Citadelle (Fortify), who made headlines with an eight-length victory over maidens on Palermo’s dirt but will now switch to turf; and Citana (Endorsement), who traveled to La Plata and returned victorious in the Clásico Fortunato Damiani (G3).
Also stepping up in class are My Pride (Daddy Long Legs), Party Girl (Brz-Outstrip)—also from Stud RDI, like Plaza Athenee—Amour D’Ete (Sixties Song), and Orphila (Daniel Boone), all hoping to handle the jump without missing a beat.
Watch closely for Sinfonía Latina (Señor Candy), who ran second to Plaza Athenee at Boucau while showing she can run a solid race, and La Banda (Fortify), still seeking her first win but unlucky to encounter the improving Sachi (Cosmic Trigger) last out.
Gata Frank (Gidu), third in the Ramírez, may not have been close to Charm then but could leverage that experience to make an impact this time around.
