The final list of participants for the Gran Premio Copa de Plata (G1) was confirmed Monday. With the withdrawals of Martana (Fortify), Escolastic Girl (Suggestive Boy), and Pasaron Cosas (Treasure Beach), a field of 12 fillies and mares will go to post next Saturday over the always testing 2000 meters of turf at the Hipódromo de San Isidro.

Without question, the heavy favorite is the 3-year-old Charm, poised to crown herself as the undisputed Mare of the Year should she secure the coveted victory. Winner at two of the Gran Premio de Potrancas (G1) and Gran Premio Estrellas Juvenile Fillies (G1), and most recently of the Gran Premio Selección (G1), the daughter of Strategos will attempt to emulate Edict (Il Campione), who captured the “Pellegrini of the Mares” a couple of seasons ago carrying the same silks of Stud Triple Alliance.

Trained by José Cristóbal Blanco and with Kevin Banegas taking the reins this time, the chestnut will encounter several dangerous adversaries. Among them is Brazil’s Q’Luz do Iguassú (Forestry), providing the international element and arriving with victories in the Grande Premio Presidente Hernani Azevedo Silva (G2), plus a runner-up finish in the Grande Premio OSAF (G1).

The other G1 winner in the field is Quita Rim (Remote), successful in the Estrellas Juvenile Fillies in 2024 but unable thus far to recapture that level.

Graded winners Knows All (Le Blues), Cannolina (South Kissing), Neowise (Brz–Agnes Gold), Noche Alta (Hi Happy), and Obra Clásica (Suggestive Boy) are also confirmed, along with Adi Shakti (Lucullan), Invocación (Treasure Beach), Maximiana (Treasure Beach), and Romana Craf (Mastercraftsman).

The Copa de Plata carries a purse of 120,000,000 pesos, with 60,000,000 to the winner and prize money down to eighth place, as customary for a race of this stature. Total entry costs amount to 1,800,000 pesos.
