After finishing last, far back, in the Kemmis (G2) at Palermo, the son of Angiolo led a 1-2 finish for trainer Marcelo Sueldo in the Clásico Criadores Argentinos del SPC (L)

LA PLATA.- After a bafflingly poor performance in the Clásico Guillermo Kemmis (G3) at Palermo, Chichipíocompletely rehabilitated himself and, in his first outing on this city's oval, achieved a convincing victory in the Clásico Criadores Argentinos del Sangre Pura de Carrera (L-1000 m, dirt), which provided continuity to the selective process for 2-year-old colts here.

This time, the son of Angiolo looked like the one who had generated promising sensations when he won on his debut on the San Isidro grass straight, and he led a 1-2 finish for trainer Marcelo Sueldo, the leader of the statistics, defeating El Rayo Pass (Distinctiv Passion) by 4 lengths.

Jorge Peralta had an order with the bay from Stud Parque Patricios: run in front. And the jockey made it clear with his movements from the very jump, heading out to seek the lead in a hurry, not caring that Fantoche Pass (Distinctiv Passion) was going for the same goal. Further back, El Rayo Pass and El Brigadier (Mask) settled in as best they could against the speed seen up front.

On a heavy, tiring track, the first 400 meters passed in 24s35/100 and, upon hitting the straight, the fight ended and an absolute dominance by Chichipío began to be seen. Mildly, El Rayo Pass sketched a late run, but he bounced off the power of his rival, who finished strongly.

11 lengths back, exhausted, Fantoche Pass was third, ahead of El Brigadier, who closed the field a head away. The final time was a meritorious 1m81/100, with a complementary partial for the 800 meters of 48s12/100.

Bred by Alberto Ibañez, Chichipío became the 46th stakes winner in the country for Angiolo, and is out of To Snow(Fortify), who had no racing career, a granddaughter of the G1 winner Stormy Nirvana (Bernstein) and who had already produced Miss Kalima (Seahenge), who this season was second in the Clásico Apertura (G2) and fourth in the Clásico Juan Shaw (G2).

Chichipío took the reins in the selective process for colts at the Hipódromo de La Plata, and will now face the challenge of gradually transforming his speed into endurance.
