COUNTY KILDARE, Ireland (Special for Turf Diario).- An unbeaten Champion at two in Europe and a triple G1 winner during his three-year-old campaign, City of Troy will join the stallion roster at Coolmore Australia for the 2025 breeding season.

City of Troy burst onto the scene with a dominant debut at The Curragh, quickly establishing himself as one of the best colts of the century in Europe. He first romped by 6 1/2 lengths in the Superlative Stakes (G2) before delivering a breathtaking performance in the Dewhurst Stakes (G1) at Newmarket. In that race, he earned a Timeform rating of 125, a mark surpassed only by Frankel (Galileo) this century and higher than champions such as Shamardal (Giant’s Causeway), Too Darn Hot (Dubawi), and Rock of Gibraltar (Danehill).

At three, he confirmed his brilliance with three top-level victories, highlighted by a dazzling win in the Juddmonte International (G1), where he shattered the track record previously held by Sea the Stars (Cape Cross).

“We are truly excited to have City of Troy and offer him to Australasian breeders,” said Colm Santry, Sales and Nominations Manager at Coolmore Australia. “Aidan O’Brien always regarded him as one of the best horses he has ever trained, while Ryan Moore considers him the best he has ever ridden. He was an elite racehorse with an incredible cruising speed, as shown in his three two-year-old victories, where he won by a combined margin of over 12 lengths. He is by far the best son of Justify, with a flawless pedigree that is Danehill-free, making him an ideal match for all the dominant bloodlines in this region.”

“His achievements on the track were extraordinary, as he became the only horse besides the legendary Frankel to claim back-to-back Cartier Two-Year-Old Colt and Cartier Horse of the Year titles. He is an exceptionally talented individual, out of a G1-winning Galileo mare at two, and with the ongoing success of shuttle stallions in Australia, his addition to our roster is both thrilling and significant.”

City of Troy will stand for a fee of $49,500 (incl. GST).
