Following a couple of uninspiring efforts in graded company, the daughter of Fortify comfortably captured the Handicap Miss Linda

Dropping down from stakes company and taking full advantage of the featherweight 53 1/2 kilos assigned to her, Class Life became the star figure of Wednesday's card at San Isidro by capturing the Handicap Miss Linda, a mile contest held on the normal auxiliary dirt track honoring the great champion from Stud Triunvirato.

Exhibiting his signature patience, jockey Gonzalo Borda settled the handsome daughter of Fortify at the rear of the field while Hidden Vision (Puerto Escondido, 54) set the pace upfront, closely pressed by Elenika (Winning Prize, 59) through conservative fractions of 25.58 and 49.09 seconds.

Once in the stretch, Hidden Vision maintained her lead along the rail, but only until the defender of Stud Victoria angled toward the middle of the track and launched her rally. Closing with real authority, the winner made up ground steadily, assumed command at the 200-meter pole, and gradually began to pull away.

At the wire, Class Life held a one-length margin over the courageous Hidden Vision, who held off Bryana (Treasure Beach, 52) by half a neck for second, stopping the clock in 1m36s13/100.

Making her return to action, graded winner Elenika finished last, though giving the distinct impression that a physical issue came into play, as she stopped abruptly just as the field straightened for home. The other disappointment came from G2 winner Queen Elinor (Señor Candy), who was never a factor and finished only ahead of Elenika.

Bred by Haras Vacación and conditioned by the red-hot Guillermo Frenkel Santillán, Class Life celebrated her fourth victory in just nine starts at four years old, proving she possesses the quality to keep dreaming of contesting middle-distance graded events in the near future.

On the pedigree side, she is the first foal out of Cielo Abierto (Roman Ruler), winner of the Clásico Francisco J. Beazley (G2) at three, and a half-sister to fellow G2 winner Catriona (Fortify), both out of the fondly remembered Camioneta (Vision and Verse), heroine of the Clásico Partícula (G2) and the Clásico Espirita (L).
