Everything was finalized Tuesday for the upcoming race programs at San Isidro and Palermo, in a week highlighted at the top level by the Gran Premio Selección (G1), to be run Saturday at the Buenos Aires venue, with the field already confirmed and published here.

Still, there will be plenty of additional graded action. On Sunday, the Clásico Pedro Chapar (G3, 1400m, turf) will headline proceedings at San Isidro, open to 3-year-olds and up. After 10 withdrawals, a final field of seven was confirmed.

Among those, Colifato Novo (Lenovo)—the 2024 Champion 2-Year-Old Colt—will make his long-awaited return to the scene of his best victories, following a pair of unsuccessful attempts at La Punta in San Luis.

The bay will face Unico Happy (Hi Happy), a Grade 1 winner, as well as stakes performers Don Latido (John F Kennedy)Paraná Miní (Winning Prize)My Stormy Dark (In the Dark)Quality Boy (Asiatic Boy), and Convertido (Conversor).

That same afternoon, the Clásico Empiric (1400m, turf) for 3-year-old fillies will feature seven starters: Catys Queen (Lizard Island)Amonet (Mask)Bachata Queen (Storm Embrujado)Flor de Laurel (Il Campione)Hat Tapada (Hat Sócrates)Mimosa Grey (Zensational), and Party Girl (Brz, Outstrip).

Friday’s program at San Isidro will include the Clásico Orbit (L, 1400m, dirt), for fillies and mares aged four and older, with no withdrawals. The lineup consists of Aiyanna (Santillano)Arlea (Orpen)Bichita de Luz (Fragotero)Causeway Girl (Dabster)Estrella del Día (Il Campione)Guadilu (Señor Candy)Increpante (Sigfrid)La de América (Le Blues), and Smock Amy (Viejo Smocking).

Meanwhile, Palermo announced the cancellation of the Clásico Carlos Gardel (L, 1800m, dirt)—initially scheduled for Monday, Oct. 13, for 4-year-olds and up under weight-for-age conditions—due to only three entries. The race has been rescheduled for Sunday, Oct. 19.

As for the Gran Premio Selección (G1), it will serve as the 11th race on Saturday’s card, with post time set for 6:15 p.m., in a program that will also include two special races for horses that have campaigned in the country’s interior circuits.
