Colifato Novo Sets Sights on Sunday at La Punta With Two Potential Targets

The 2024 Champion 2-Year-Old was entered in both the Clásico Aniversario (L) and the Clásico Estrellas Cuyanas

LA PUNTA, San Luis (Special for Turf Diario).- This Sunday’s card at Hipódromo La Punta could feature a very special presence: one of the most prominent horses from Argentina’s interior circuit.

Colifato Novo, crowned the nation’s Champion 2-Year-Old Male of 2024 and winner of both the G1 Estrellas Juvenileand G1 2000 Guineas, has been entered for two races: the Clásico Aniversario Hipódromo La Punta (L, 1600 meters, dirt) and the Clásico Estrellas Cuyanas (1200 meters, dirt), as he looks to return to the winner’s circle.

The first of those contests offers a purse of ARS 8,000,000 to the winner and is open to horses aged four and up on the official calendar. A total of 25 entries were received, including several of the top names from the region.

The Clásico Estrellas Cuyanas, meanwhile, is open to 3-year-olds and up registered in the series sponsored by the Fundación Equina Argentina and carries a winner’s prize of ARS 5,000,000.
