Colifato Novo to Be the Main Attraction on the San Isidro Turf This Week

The champion will look to extend his winning streak on Sunday in the Clásico Urbano de Iriondo; the Clásico Melgarejo will also be run

As the countdown continues toward the Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini (G1), Hipódromo de San Isidro has already set the course for its three programs scheduled for next week.
Action will get underway on Friday, November 28, with the Handicap Polar Star (1400m, dirt) as the main feature. Restricted to fillies and mares aged four and up, it has drawn just nine nominations, with Causeway Girl (Dabster) carrying the top weight of 60.5 kilos.
Also entered are Che Solita (Zensational, 54), Ethereum (Portal del Alto, 54 1/2), Increpante (Sigfrid, 55 1/2), Joy Traviesa (Fortify, 55), La Bombonera (Portal del Alto, 52), Lancara (Manipulator, 54), Mehora (Fortify, 53) and Mía Fratella (Cosmic Trigger, 54).
The Jockey Club Argentino will reopen its doors on Saturday, November 29, highlighted by the Clásico Melgarejo (L-1400m, diagonal turf) and the Clásico Urbano de Iriondo (L-1400m, diagonal turf). The former is for fillies and mares three and up, while the latter is open to all horses aged three and up.
Nominated for the Melgarejo are Amonet (Mask), Candlelit (Equal Stripes), Causeway Girl, Dream Serena (Forge), Emalvi (Orpen), Ethereum, Finikas (Angiolo), Lancara, Lessons of Life (Le Blues), Mehora, Peanut Butter (Brz–Can the Man), Same Treasure (Treasure Beach) and Tranquila Señora (Fortify).
In the Urbano de Iriondo, the spotlight falls on reigning champion Colifato Novo (Lenovo), who faces a demanding test against a deep group including Beauty Sea (Seahenge), Don Latido (John F Kennedy), El Gazpacho (Bodemeister), Gaucho El Galán (Galán de Cine), Giant Rimout (Remote), Hop On (Endorsement), Last Chance (Hurricane Cat), Mis Padres (Tantos Años), Quality Boy (Asiatic Boy), Quebracho Joy (Fortify), Río New (Hurricane Cat), Señor Pendibene (Forge) and The Outsider (Roman Joy).
The week at San Isidro will conclude on Wednesday, December 3, with the Handicap Make Tracks (1100m, dirt) as the top attraction for horses aged five and up.
With nine nominations, the Pampean pair Despacito (Sabayón, 61) and Príncipe Soñado (Fragotero, 60) have been assigned the top weights. Possible rivals include Bank One (Lenovo, 57), Beauty Sea (56 1/2), Bingo Song (Alcindor, 58 1/2), East Ender (Il Campione, 53), El Santo Remedio (Il Campione, 52 1/2), Fire Class (Emperor Richard, 53 1/2) and Paso Nevado (Hi Happy, 54).
