The son of Univision surprised and took the Especial Jockey Club de Mendoza, over 1400 meters; Yak Sport finished third

LA PLATA.— Although he was coming off a pair of more than acceptable efforts at the stakes level, the victory of Colour Vision (54 kg.) in the Especial Jockey Club de Mendoza (1400 m, dirt), the centerpiece of another lackluster Tuesday meeting at the racetrack in this city, did not cease to be somewhat surprising.
Facing very tough rivals, many of them with form lines quite superior to those presented by the son of Univision, the bay from Stud Don René rose to the occasion and ended up settling the matter with full authority, as if he were the favorite.
Breaking from the outermost gate, Elias Martinez never hurried Colour Vision, letting him get into the race to eventually join the lead pack by the turn, while the heavy favorite Yak Sport (Glory Seattle, 56) set an uncomfortable pace.
Shortly before reaching the home stretch, the winner began to dominate and then drew away with ease, reaching the wire with a 4-length advantage over Bombay Lake (Anjiz Lake, 54), who performed well coming from the conditional ranks. Another 2 lengths back, a somewhat dull Yak Sport completed the trifecta, all in the good time of 1m23s17/100.
Emmspacial Boy (Emmanuel, 58) also failed to rise to the occasion and finished last, while Talento Emergente(Hurricane Cat, 56) was scratched at the gates.
