The son of Univisión promises to be the headliner of the Especial Rey del Bosque, over 1,400 meters, as part of an 11-race card at La Plata; Don Chamamé and Bienhechor emerge as his primary rivals

LA PLATA.— Just five runners will take part this Tuesday in the Especial Rey del Bosque, the feature event of an 11-race card at this venue. Reserved for 5-year-olds and up with at least three victories, it will be contested over 1,400 meters, featuring Colour Visión as the primary contender, tasked with carrying 60 kilograms and proving that his last outing was merely a minor setback.

The son of Univisión, racing for Stud Don René and conditioned by Mariano De Rose, comes off a complete failure in the Handicap Manganga at Palermo, where he finished far off the board. That performance stood in stark contrast to his previous display at La Plata, where he captured the Especial Libreo over the mile ahead of Escape Room (Il Campione).

Earlier this season, he claimed the Especial Jockey Club de Mendoza and Especial Cafrune, both at La Plata, while in 2025 he had won the Handicap Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, also over the local circuit. He boasts seven wins in 27 starts and will once again have Elías Martínez in the irons. His main obstacle will be conceding between two and six kilograms to his four rivals.

One of those looking to capitalize on that weight allowance is Don Chamamé (56 kg), who arrives full of confidence following a comfortable allowance victory on this same track. The son of Long Island Sound, with Lucas Chávez in the saddle, will have the opportunity to translate his fine current form into a tougher assignment. With five wins in 23 starts, he possesses the tools to trouble the favorite.

Bienhechor (Hurricane Cat, 56 kg), representing Stud Dos Estrellas, also merits attention. His recent failure in the Clásico Pablo Gustavo Falero at Palermo requires a rebound performance, but he had previously provided a convincing display of ability by winning the Handicap Juan Bautista Udaondo over 1,200 meters. With Gonzalo Borda taking the reins, he will aim to leverage that credential while tackling the additional 200 meters.

Dom Moore (54 kg) enters off an allowance win at La Plata and will carry the featherweight assignment of the five-horse field. The son of Storm Embrujado could turn into a threat if he maximizes his sharp form and bottom-weight advantage, though the step up in class remains substantial.

Rounding out the line-up is Fancy Model (Lizard Island, 58 kg), a 7-year-old veteran who previously offered much higher quality than his recent form displays. With 70 career starts under his belt, his prime form appears behind him, requiring a drastic turnaround to contend for top honors.

Scheduled for 4:30 p.m. as the fifth race on the card, the contest will pit the class and weight assignment of Colour Visión against the ambitions of well-weighted rivals. The favorite owns the credentials. Now he must validate them on the racetrack.
