The colt and the filly comfortably reached the first victory of their campaigns on the Palermo dirt kilometer

Horse racing is much more beautiful at our main racetracks when the menu arrives with high-level races. This was the case during Monday's session at Palermo, where, in addition to the two handicaps and the victory of Butterfing(Angiolo) —all discussed in this same edition— other attractive conditional races were added, such as the Premio April Fool (1000 m, dirt) and Premio La Sevillana (1000 m, dirt), for maiden colts and fillies, respectively.
In the first of those tests, after leaving behind the always complicated debut with a fourth-place finish, Corazón Federal, a son of Strategos from the Mendoza stable Don Valentín, shone brightly.
Ridden by César Cuellar, the grey presented by Roberto Latorre had an extremely interesting performance, above all, for having secured the result amidst several imperfections. He did not break well and was left last, and then he almost seemed to stop, separating himself even further from the field.
That’s when his jockey stepped in; he never despaired, gradually moving him closer to dominate by the 200-meter mark and pulling away from the rest with ease, crossing the wire with a 4-length advantage over the heavy favorite Sin Tu Amor (Fortify), in 57s90/100, one of the best times of the day.
Bred by Haras El Paraíso, Corazón Federal is out of the stakes-placed mare Sarahri (Sebi Halo), a full sister to Serenity Jane, the dam of multiple G1 winner El Exito (Il Campione), from the maternal family of the notable Orientadora (Kleiglight).
A while later, among the fillies, it was a debut and victory for Unica Forma, adding another happy chapter to the endless harvest of Stud Pauli, trainer Marcelo Sueldo, and jockey Gonzalo Borda.
Despite showing some inaccuracies typical of her inexperience, the bay dominated from end to end, steadying herself from the 300-meter mark to the wire to finish 4 lengths ahead of Batahola Bacana (Puerto Escondido), defending her favoritism in the best way. The clock stopped at 58s89/100, a mark significantly slower than that recorded by Corazón Federal.
Born at Haras Vacación, Unica Forma is out of Urbania (Roman Ruler), a full sister to the remembered Ultima Vuelta, and a maternal sister to the ill-fated unbeaten Urbanizado (Slew Gin Fizz) and the stakes winner Ultra Urbano(Star Dabbler).
